Speaking of God – The Fire of His Love

Photograph & Poem by Shammah

I recently wrote an article for a site that I often time write to and it had to do with the current recession and the question posed was “why doesn’t God do something about the recession?”  What came out as I wrote was to the effect that in essence, this could be a good thing; that in the most terrible of circumstances, we can see the “refining and loving hand of God” working things out for our own good.  We know that (okay I know) He sees the “big picture;” what’s down the road for all of us.  But us mere mortals, well we have tunnel vision and can rarely see beyond what is in our natural eye sight.

I have to believe, and certainly my own personal life story has proven, that in these challenging times, there is a purpose and ultimately we will triumph – and become better persons, and better country, a better nation and possibly a better world out of it all.

Thus, when I came across this poem I’d written a few years ago, speaking of the “Fire of God’s Love,” I thought it appropriate; somewhat of a confirmation of the article I wrote earlier today.  His Love refines us; it purifies us and readies us for His Holy Purpose.  There is indeed a scheme much grander than what the human mind can comprehend, and if we believe at all that our Creator is Good and is Loving, then we must look to see, to find that good.  Fire burns and can be painful; but we can and we will survive and we will be the better for it.

Be of good cheer and know that you are not alone, no matter your struggle.  Lean not on your own understanding, for it is dim and unclear.  Faith is believing in what cannot be seen nor understood.

I have Faith in my God’s Faithfulness to His Promises – and above all in His Love for you and I, His greatest creation – made in His Image!  Turn inwards and find the answers you have been looking for; knock, the door will be opened and you will be joyfully surprised at your treasure that awaits your dis-covery!
