Journey of the Rose: Another Lesson: Smile

Well, this is today’s early morning photograph of the rose as it begins to open up even more.  It glows in the sunlight and I can’t help but think how we humans glow brighter when the sun is shining; our moods seem to mirror the weather.  If that be the case, then this past summer, here in Toronto, there should have been a wealth of glowing faces.  Speaking personally and honestly, I admit that despite the beautiful brightness of the sun in a summer that seems to be never-ending, my countenance did not always reflect the bright glory of the sun that has stirred this beautiful budding rose to come alive.

 

Rose Lesson:  Smile: I have no doubt that this picture of the rose as it begins to awaken to the world around it, would have been just as beautiful, bright and colourful, even if it was raining and thundering.  The only difference in the photograph would not have been found in the rose, just the background reflecting the world around the rose; outside of and not a part of the rose.  Why then, do I allow the world around me to dictate how I will open up each morning; let outside influences determine whether or not I will allow myself to shine brightly and let all the colours of the rainbow found in the crystalline prism of life centred within me to just be and unfold naturally?  It is so amazing, is it not, that we, of all living creatures, having the gift of reason and logic, the ability to analyze and decide for self – that which was intended to be a blessing, I certainly (can’t speak for the world around me) have turned against me and caused it to be not a blessing, but a mirror opposite.  Instead of light I’ve turned it into darkness.

Like the rose that just is, may we just BE – just as the Creator IS I AM.
