Christ, Christians & Christmas

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

The first thing I’d like to share with you was that I’ve been “thinking” scripture incorrectly. That verse quoted above has always rang in my head as “Unto us a saviour is born….”.  How wrong that is and how I’ve accepted those words that I heard, heaven knows when or in which of the religious organizations or religious songs crafted by man.  Does it make a difference?  Of course it does.  It makes all the difference in the world of understanding the message.

Yahshua was born into a human family.  That should have been the first clue of the message of his birth, and it is only now, this very moment of writing that I see this message.  Born into a human family, from the Father (“father” does denote family), therefore of the Family of the Father, YHWH.

Yahshua had to be born because human kind was lost in the wilderness; had lost their way.  Yahshua was born to lead us back into the “family” of YHWH; to show us the way back home to the Family of God.

Yahshua (Jesus Christ) was not born to start a new religion, the one we today call Christianity. He came because we had lost our way.  His purpose, as was His Father’s purpose, was that we be One with Him; a family.

Religion is something that was created by man.  Religion is not of YHWH.  Relationship, familial relationship is the Father’s Desire.  Is it not the desire of the human father?  How much more so the Father of All?

Religion divides and ultimately destroys.  Look at the wars in the name of religion.

Christmas is not of YHWH and not of Yahshua.  Christmas is a pagan holiday glossed over with religious traditions to make it look like a holy thing of YHWH.  It is not a holy thing, it is a holly thing, another pagan symbolism.

The birth of Yahshua was the greatest gift to human kind.  I celebrate his birth by a life lived, every day.  Do we mock him by participating in pagan rituals?  I know what you will say, “It’s the idea, it’s the meaning.” to which I say, “It’s a lifestyle.  That is honouring and treasuring the Gift of His Birth.  By living in the way he showed us to live.”

What this holiday called Christmas does is certainly it brings to the believer, non-believer, pagan, agnostic and athiest alike – the name of Yahshua and the fact of his birth.  But even to the believer, those who still believe he was born December 25th, have they, have we too not been caught up in the materialism of the season?  Buy, buy, buy….pay, pay, pay?

The gift of what Christmas is supposed to be about – was free to us for the taking.

Do we celebrate Him or are we caught up in the materialism of this incorrectly named date of his birth?

Galatians 3:29 29And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according the promise.

We are heirs to the promise; the promise YHWH made to Abraham.  We are part of the family of YHWH, the family of Abraham.

Isaiah 54:6-17 6For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. 7For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer. 9For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. 10For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. 11O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. 12And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. 13And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. 14In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. 15Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. 16Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

The gift of Yahshua is the restoration of us to the Family of YHWH, where we are One, united unto the promise made to Abraham, united with the Israelites, descendants of Abraham.

Psalm 133 1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
