2011 – What Does It Mean?

Since my first writing involving this new calendar year of 2011, I’ve written a couple of times that there’s something about this year that is pulling at me; that I couldn’t put my finger on it.  It was (or is) just a knowing that it is special.

This morning I decided to check out numerology and number meanings, and instead of checking out the number 20 first, I went to number 11.  I found the following on this number, and have yet to seek out the meaning of number 20.

If the meaning of 11 doesn’t get you going, then my friend…there’s no hope (kidding).  I am extatic about what I’ve uncovered and had to share this with you.  I just know that I am not alone in this “sense” of something spectaculor about 2011, and look forward to hearing from all you like (light) minded folks.  Let’s connect, connect the dots; connect the light energy and power to positively influence this quickly decaying world.

The spiritual meaning of number eleven is quite diverse.

The number 11 is thought of as a “master” number in numerology because it is a double digit of the same number. When this occurs – the vibrational frequency of the prime number doubles in power. Meaning, the attributes of the Number One are doubled.

Therefore, the very basic and primary understanding of the Number One is that of new beginnings and purity. When we see this digit doubled as with the 11 – then these attributes double in strength.

In numerology the number 11 represents:

  • Higher ideals
  • Invention
  • Refinement
  • Congruency
  • Balance
  • Fulfillment
  • Vision

The 11 carries a vibrational frequency of balance. It represents male and female equality. It contains both sun energy and moon energy simultaneously yet holding them both in perspective separate-ness. Perfect balance.

Consequently, constant reoccurances of number 11 in our lives often signal us to beaware of our balance:

  • Balance emotion, thought and spirit
  • Balance of masculine and feminine aspects
  • Balance of work and play

Elevens are magical messages asking us if we are centered or off kilter.

When we add 1+1 (eleven reduced) we get number two – which is also a balance number -Numeral two also deals with:

  • Equality
  • Justice
  • Calm
  • Kindness
  • Tact
  • Duality

Those who recognize the spiritual meaning of number Eleven in their lives are quite sensitive to vibrational frequencies matching these attributes above listed. Elevens appearing on a consistent bases is indicative of a reflective, thoughtful and intuitive soul.

I get loads of emails, and it seems to me, number Eleven presents itself to people who appear to be very psychically connected. I believe each time then number 11 if observed it is the Universe sending a message of:

  • Confirmation to maintain integrity
  • Enter into an open space of conscious awareness
  • Realign, reaffirm, re-establish (re-balance) ourselves

As we deal with energy in our lives it is integral to understand we are at once a part of it, and yet the option to separate from energetic forces is present. The spiritual meaning of number Eleven deals directly with our involvement with the progression of life. When it appears, it references both our ability to be objective and subjected to life events - it is how we enter through the doorway of choice that determines the purity of the outcome.

Another site has this to say about number 11:

As for the number 20, I found the following.  There doesn’t appear to be a lot of meaning for this number; certainly not the impact of number 11.

However, if you add 1+1 you do get 2+0 – the number 2?  I just noticed that one!  So, I’ll also look up the meaning of the number 2 and see what it has to say.

  • Represent the God solar for the Mayas.
  • Represent “the fundamental differentiation which creates in the world two relatively antagonistic poles, and particularly the opposition: spirit-matter”, according to R. Allendy.
  • J. Boehme calls this number “the Devil”, that is to say the material world opposed to the spiritual world.
  • The number 20 is considered as ominous for saint Jerome because it indicates the universal fight, but it also represents the source of all energy of the world.
  • This number is represented in Hebrew by the letter caph, in form of opened hand, to seize and hold. The eleventh mystery of the Tarot, which corresponds to this letter, and consequently with this number, is “the Force” which expresses energy, the activity, the work, according to R. Allendy.
  • Number associated to the resurrection or to the reincarnation, according to Creusot.

As an add to this posting, as promised when I saw this business about 1+1 equally 2+0, I’ve found the following on the number 2:

Two: The symbolic meaning of number Two is kindness, balance, tact, equalization, and duality. The number Two reflects a quiet power of judgment, and the need for planning. Two beckons us to choose. The spiritual meaning of number Two also deals with exchanges made with others, partnerships (both in harmony and rivalry), and communication. Two urges us out of our indecision, calls us to unite with like-minds, and like-ideals. Two asks us to exert our natural flow of judgment to do what is best for our souls.

Wow.  What do I get from reading the above? The first thing that strikes me is this constant pull that has been going on for forever; between the spiritual and the physical (or material).  I am sensing that this will be the beginning of the strengthening and blossoming of the spiritual; that perhaps there will come a point when the struggle will subside, and as the Bible/Torah says, “The lion will sleep with the lamb.”  That is to say, perhaps a balance and an acceptance; an acceptance within the individual, a peace that settles in as the two harmonize and work together.  Then, the individual being settled and “at peace” and “at one” as it was meant to be (at-one-ment), the uniting of many who have attained this sense of at-one-ment for the higher good of the universe in which we live.

A high and impossible dream, you say.  No, say I, for we are pure and powerful energy made in the image of a Creator who created all the naked eye can see; co-creators and this will be the year of flourishment for those seeking their own.

Just yesterday I wrote about The Blank Scroll.  As I read through this information on these two numbers, 20 and 11, I saw what I had written about myself; about my hands being opened to catch the falling scroll.  I read somewhere, in my search (and of course now can’t find it!) that it is significant that your hands be open to receive!  Now, how cool is that for a confirmation of what I’d written, what I’d seen…on January 1, 2011!

i also have always been interested in numbers …I have been interested in our birth numbers, being born in the eleventh month and knowaing the numbers are reduced into 2 or 1 also looked up the meaning and in numerology it has stated that i have these similar qualities. Thank you for looking it up about our year I do believe we are in that search of balance. I like the fact of the lion sleeping with the lamb, I believe we are growing into that peacefulness the people that are searching and there are more…everyday. HAPPY NEW 2011

Great posts to get a conversation – with our selves and our Selves going – another point I could add to this conversation, is that typically within numerology, since 11 is one of the Master numbers, it doesn't get reduced down ( therefore the resonace energies of the ' 2' are not neccesary ) yet…it is a good read, when you take a larger more global view of the energies within the 2011.

Personally, the number 11 is my numerology path / the high priestess is my tarot path – so I am very familar with the energies contained in the 11 journey.

I know that this year is going to be one of balance and reclaiming insights while moving toward the ' at-one-ment' for many folks.

Hi Brad, Thanks for dropping by and your comments. I'm relatively new to this kind of thing and it looks like this year's journey will be one of uncovering these things; e.g. I finally looked into the eagle I keep seeing and did some research on that and meaning. As per my Part II posting, it looks like I'm definitely in for "something"; my number is 8 all around – but not certain re my "tarot path". Have read a great book providing info vis-a-vis a Mayan priest – again, have this "thing" about the "Mayans" and "Atlantis"; can't explain…just there.
