Medical Marijuana – Big Pharma Eyes on the Market

Not surprised to see this article from Natural News (click to go to the article)about big pharma having their eyes on the market, and got me to thinking that the Feds and powers that be, well they are clamping down on authorized medical facilities to give big pharma time to get their proposal or whatever together to take over that market and add to their financial coffers.

Seems to me that the little guys just keep getting stomped on; the little guys with big hearts who (sure they need to make money, need to live) have as a prime objective, not the making of money but the helping of their brothers and sisters; helping to make their lives a little easier.

Reminds me of the social work field.  This is a field, a job, if you will, that is not a job but a joy for those who enter into it as a chosen profession.  They certainly don’t enter for the money.  I know what I am talking about, because I’ve been there, done that, working as a counsellor in a women’s shelter where I earned substantially less than my legal assistant had been paid in the legal profession – and yet what I was doing as a social worker (so to speak) was a he** of a lot more valuable than working as a legal assistant/secretary.

Anyway, read the article and you decide whether or not this is likely the truth; that medical marijuana will become prescribed medication to pick up at big pharma, and thus likely highly over charged and benefical to the pharmaceutical industry – once again.

I am not certain which particular health challenges are using marijuana to help the patient, but a google search brought up a site called Guyism.com that lists 10 major health benefits, which include things like migraines and slowing tumour growth.  Heck, just that last one alone should be sufficient to allow the use of this plant to help better the quality of life for people, as opposed to invasive and sickening things like chemotherapy for cancer treatment!  If smoking marijuana can do the same thing and not cause debilitating illness to a person like chemo does…heck, it should be free!
