Mana from Heaven~~Life Force
In the time of the ancients of Israel, captured by pharoah and in slavery for generations, set free and following Moses through the desert on the way to their promised land, we are told that each day it rained manna from heaven and the Israelites were told to gather enough only to eat for the day. Of note is that the journey took 40 years; the old saying, you can take the Israelites out of Egypt, but to get the Egypt (mentality) out of the Israelites, a journey that could have been accomplished in weeks, took 40 years!
What about the other miracles that must have been performed in that journey? They left with nothing but the clothes on their back, sandals on their feet…and for 40 years they travelled. They were not only fed, but they managed to be clothed. There were generations of children who became adults by the time the journey ended. How did they survive? I mean there were no motels and shopping malls along the way.
Manna or mana; what exactly does it mean? The Hebrew in Strong’s has as a definition (#3131), “what it is.” Now that’s quite a definition; leaves it open for all kinds of interpretation and use. Manna in that context could indeed be whatever it is you have need of, could it not?
The indigenous peoples of **Polynesia and parts of North America understood this miraculous power; the power that is apparent in nature all around us, unperceived by most, was called Mana, meaning miraculous power. In China it is called Chi, meaning life force; Japan it is Ki meaning vital essence (ergo Rei-ki); in India it is Prana meaning Absolute energy and by Shamans of the ancient orthern peoples it is Megin, meaning inner power. The understanding of all peoples was this life force, this energy…that activates all living forms and yet is itself not matter.
I think of the mana from heaven. Did the Israelites see it coming down as the bread they ate, or did it just suddenly appear in its solid form on the ground? I think that the latter is likely the case, for can anyone see a miracle before it is manifest?
The Hawaiian Shamans and Native American tribes understood Mana to be the life force. There was a general understanding in oral tradition that this life force was a combination of 4 different aspects of power:
- power an an energizing and creative force;
- power as mastery and control;
- power as influence and authority; and
- power as ability to perform specific work with confidence
Personally speaking, when I read about the miracle of mana, I saw only the final product; did not dig deeper, nor did I look to see, “what is the source?” And, taking it further, if bread could be provided in such a way, what else was provided during that 40 year journey that never made it into the books we call he Torah/Bible?
Again, as has happened so often before, further light has been shed on words of Scripture, providing deeper meaning and more insight into the true miracles and workings of the Creator. This life force that Created is our heritage. We are made of the same stuff, so, it should go without saying that whatever you or I direct our energies towards, shall and will be manifest~~but, and I believe there is a but, only insofar as that which we seek to manifest is for the good of all life and living things.
Being a Reiki Master and Therapeutic Touch practitioner, I know of the power of energy and the ability to remove blockages from a person’s life force energy flow. You and I are vibrating energy; nothing more, nothing less – no different in that sense (vibrational energy) than the rocks by the seashore. All solid matter is vibrational energy.
