Spirit Rising

This writer has felt for a long time that things are happening that the human can’t understand if s/he seeks to do so with the limited conditioning we’ve lived by for centuries.  My belief is that what is happening now is the rightful return of the rule of the Spirit.  Currently and for centuries the spirit has been the servant to the flesh, the ego. 

If anything is happening or will happen as predicted by the Mayans and other ancients as regards 2012, it is my belief that the Spirit will take its rightful place and once again become ruler and the Ego, or flesh the servant of the Spirit as originally intended.

The other day I read the following passage in Kenneth Meadows’ book Shamanic Spirit and saw in simple words what my essence has felt and believes.  I share it with you and would love your feedback and input on this passage.  I have no doubt that for this person, these words are true, true to the core.  My flesh has been my ruler and my spirit its servant; thus I live a caged in life, like a bird.  It is time to be free, to come out of our self-imposed cocoons and fly free.

The passage comes out of the author’s reading of Lao Tzu, a Chinese sage who lived around the 5th century BC.  When I read these words of wisdom, it’s as though Lao Tzu were scanning today’s society and telling us, “Folks.  This is where you’ve gone wrong, and this is what you need to do to make things right.”

Tzu is speaking of virtue and virtue being its own reward; that is in looking upon a virtuous person you see the reward in a life well lived; a virtuous life.  He speaks of the ego and the role reversal that existed 5,000 BC, and like I said, it’s as though he is speaking of us in the here and now.

When the Ego is encouraged to fulfil its natural role as a supporter, intended to serve the total being [it is this writer's belief I am not the flesh and bone you see, but am the Spirit which cannot be seen], rather than the master, and the Spirit is encouraged to take pre-eminence, virtuous qualities are enabled to find manifestation in the realm of the physical existence.  However, when the Ego is allowed to be in control, it clamours for exclusive rights to existence.  It absorbs our full attention and when fed on flattery and encouraged by greed, keeps us confined to the limitationsof the physical and mental realms which it conditions.

I know there are many of you out there who will have an “Ah ha!” moment in reading this and for those who see this truth for the first time, may it be just the beginning of your journey of freedom!
