Free to Be~~The Gift of My Country Canada

What’s not to love in a country such as Canada?  I get to wake up every morning; okay so, you do wherever you live if you are blessed with the gift of the presence, another moment lived in this human journey.

But I get to wake up every morning, without fear of bombing or war; without fear and filled with anticipation and expectations, should I so choose, of another wonderful day; a day in which I am free to come and go as I please and do whatever I want.

I get to wake up every day and be greeted by the sun in all of its glory.

Such was another day for me, as I awoke before the sun rose, and got to capture just a tiny bit of the sun’s rising glory on a yet sleeping city of Toronto.

Today is another Happy Canada Day ‘eh; another day in which we can celebrate and give thanks for the wonders of this great country that we are so blessed to be able to live in, free to do as we choose.

As for me, it’s 5:55 a.m. and I am heading out to the 24 hour grocery store to get my groceries so that I am free for the remainder of the day to go out and explore.  There’s a lot going on in Toronto, and the sun’s promises of another glorious day, I embrace and choose to live in a thankful and glorious way!

Freedom, a gift I’ve taken forgranted because I’ve never lived anywhere but Canada.  This gift is a gift of my parents, of people like my father who underwent the horrors of war to keep us in this blissful state of freedom.  My gift to life itself is how well and more so these days, how consciously I live that life, seeking to be aware and awake every single moment, every single breath I take.
