The Power of Words

I was born and have lived in Canada all of my life, currently residing in the GTA…great metropolis of Toronto, a city of some five million people.

I hail from an Irish Catholic family born in one of the Atlantic   (formerly known as “Maritime”) provinces; an atypical large family consisting of six brothers and one sister.  I did the “marriage” thing, sadly it ended   but no regrets for out of it came my treasures; my two beautiful daughters.

My education was first class and I recall the two subjects I detested, consistently, were English (reading and writing) and History!

About me; well, I’ve done an about face and now live in rooms surrounded by volumes upon volumes of books and can’t seem to keep my fingers off the computer and keyboard.  I love to write and it was in packing up my parents’ home, following the passing of my father, that it really hit me between the eyes.  Framed on the wall was a letter I had written for my father to his heart surgeon, some 15 years earlier.  And my father’s words came flooding back to me, bringing tears to my eyes.  He had asked, “Dear, Can you write a thank you letter to Dr. X for me. You have such a wonderful way with words!”

History, well I can’t seem to get enough of it and it stems from my love of YHWH and my deepest desire to know Him.  Thus, I’ve read all the Dead Sea Scrolls; all the books that someone decided should not be put in what we call the Bible;   studied Hebrew to get a deeper meaning of a word….so believe in the ‘power’ a simple ‘word’ holds.  I’ve scratched the surface to uncover what is hidden; to remove the lies I’ve been fed by priests, pastors, rabbis and other men of cloth.  I think that my love for YHWH is the engine that drives me to dig, to seek, to know and to want to continue and learn more and more.

I love to inspire people and I tend to write from the heart.  I don’t care what the newspaper or television (any press) says, if my Spirit tells me else wise, then that is what will be written. My best pieces, those bringing most response, are those that well up from deep within; that all of a sudden appear seemingly out of nowhere!

I work in the legal profession, and yet it is my worst writing!  Give me a story impacting humanity; the little old lady next door; the guy sleeping on the street; the city of 5 million people that I live in that already has so very much, and yet with people being laid off around the world from their jobs, my people/my neighbours…they’re on strike for more!

There’s no stopping these fingers of mine when I take up a cause, when it crawls under my skin and won’t let go until it’s been “said”, be it on paper or out loud!!

My hometown,Toronto, is a multi-national metropolis.  I live in a country that has everything anyone could ever want: freedom, prosperity, opportunity, challenges, all four seasons, mountains, lakes, valleys, forests, oceans.

My gifting is one of inspiring others to look beyond what is seen by the naked eye; to go behind the eye, to deep within their soul and find the light that flickers and is waiting to burn brightly; to be the best they can be and more.

I believe with all that I am that one person can make a difference.  Our problem is that we want it to be the whole world at once.  But, did Yahshua walk around the whole world; do it “all at once?”  Look at the impact this one solitary person has made, and is still making over 2000 years later.  It’s not, “I think I can I think I can,” it’s, “I know I can I know I can I know I can!”  Yes, you can!!
