Spiritual Beings, Clothed in Flesh

Published by Shammah

This is a poem that arose in my Spirit as I was thinking about me, about humanity, and the essence of who we “humankind” really are – the heading of this sums it up!

Spiritual Beings Clothed in Flesh

Spiritual beings, clothed in flesh,
It is with effort we struggle to be our best.
This very struggle that we endure,
Is what binds us, keeps us from reflecting the Pure.

So I ask of you my friends out there,
Why not let go, exhale the polluted air
That holds you down, keeps you from rising above,
The cares of this world, the lies from the enemy of your soul?

The journey began, a Spirit alone, then clothed as man.
The clothing we wear, this thing called flesh,
It’s not who we are, so even our best
Efforts will fail; it’s all to no avail.

Let go of fleshly efforts, simply stand,
And look deep into your soul,
Find the Great I AM,
Give Him your “self” and let Him take command!

Life is a journey, a time to experience,
To feel the pain, to share the joy; to Love.
Don’t fight your feelings, simply let them flow,
Release them to Him and see your Essence will glow.
