Serpent of Light – Beyond 2012

08 Aug

Amazon.ca or Amazon.com has a phenomenal selection of books, new and used, that keep me buying to feed my mind and soul on spirituality as I feebly attempt to uncover who I am.  One of these, that was likely my fastest read in a very long time, even though the subject is heavy, thought provoking and deep, is “Serpent of Light – Beyond 2012.”  What’s amazing about Amazon is their ability to link other books of the same genre and recommend those that might interest me.  As a result, my last online purchase netted me eight books, and already I’m into the fourth; only purchased less than two weeks ago!

Though the name of this book first had me say, “No way,” I picked it up anyway and am so very glad I did.  It feeds into my present day course (path) of uncovering much by digging into the deep and ruins of ancient cultures.  Having just finished Serpent of Light, I now have to go back online to Amazon and purchase two books referenced in it by the author, both written by him.  Logically, I should have read them first; however, for me there are no mistakes and though these other two books may have been written first by Drunvalo Melchizadek, I personally am meant to read them in the order in which they are unfolding in my life.  I have no doubt that there is a pebble or two from the Serpent that will feed into and nourish what I will ultimately read in Drunvalo’s books, The Ancient Secrets of the Flower of Life, Volumes I and II (these two are the ones that ideally should have been read first), and his book Living in the Heart, which by its very name, and because of what Drunvalo wrote in the Serpent, has touched my heart and stirred a desire to read it as well.

Isn’t the Holy One great; see how He feeds our souls with the things that we didn’t even know we sought, let alone we needed…at precisely the right linear moment in time!

Whales With Feet?

08 Aug

Okay, so maybe I am unenlightened and maybe my world is indeed very small, very narrow and very concentrated; maybe it’s just me who was blown away and everyone else who got to see this life like whale from 49 million years ago, thought nothing of it!  Well, I am here to tell you folks that it sure blew me away as I precariously asked the museum attendants in Bar Habor, Maine if it was okay for me to take photographs & was given the go ahead.

Sadly, I had my telephoto lens on my camera and couldn’t get the whole whale in one shot, so was reduced to taking a “head” shot and then a “tail” shot.  First just to let you know the little guy was, well, just that, little in comparison to today’s versions of the whale.  He (presuming a he, okay or she) was slim and streamlined and “quite fit” so to speak compared to today’s bluberous whale.  But my dear, dear folks…it was this guy’s tail end that got me, and perhaps it will you.

Whale Fin/Foot - 49 Million Years Old

This photo is of one of its two fins.  Only the one looked like this; the damn thing had the equivalent of our five toes and by the looks of it needed to have it’s nails clipped.  Yes, up close and personal there were some nasty looking toe nails!

Got me to thinking about mermaids and such…and things like are we descendants of whales and dolphins; we do know that whales and dolphins have this kindred spirit?  Strange thoughts, but this thing, right before my eyes, hand-in-hand with my research, readings and studies these days of things spiritual – well, okay by the world’s standards I’m nuts; but who says it isn’t a possibility?  We are such an arrogant lot, are we not; to think that we have it all!

Well, if we humans of today have it all – you can keep it, because we’re killing everying, including the very air we breath and as of late the oceans wherein life has lived for millions of years, much of which at least I know nothing about.  How deep is the sea, the ocean, and is there anything underneath what we call its floor?  Is Atlantis really there, will it rise; why would it wish to rise to a world that slowly but surely we are making totally uninhabitable.

All these rambling and random thoughts flow through my mind along the tiny stream of life; some times I take hold and examine; other times they continue to flow by, eventually they will return to the forefront of thought and when it is the appointed time will be examined or re-examined as the case may be, under a light of enlightenment. For now, they flow; they will always be there; perhaps hidden on the dark side before returning; but know this, not a thought ever disappears – much like you think you’ve emptied the trash from your computer, but you’ve never really gotten rid of it; someone can always find it if he digs deep enough.

Well, food for thought; pictures for thought.  Just had to share this with you.  Perhaps this is why one of my favourite all time movies is, “Free Willy!”

Drive Thru Bible

07 Aug

What an interesting trip through New Hampshire!  I crossed Jordan (okay not the river, but Jordan Street) and entered into Canaan.  Over the next several hours I was in Gilead and Bethel.  I was in the mountains of New Hampshire and in between these towns and villages there was nothing but forests and mountains.  Oh, and also passed through Santa’s Village which looked more like a circus and for me was just too out 0f place.  The only other thing of note, at least to me, was I felt like any time I’d see Billy Bob step out onto one of the wooden verandas of the houses scattered about, with a bottle of moonshine slung over his shoulder.  Truly!  There were remnants of the old pick-up trucks that we’d see in the old movies with the moonshine runners.

Mountains of New Hampshire

Back to the drive thru bible.  It got me to wondering what went wrong.  This must have been one hell of a land to settle and the people must have been desperate and determined, and most of all they must have been “god fearing,” when they settled this land.  They had to literally carve their way through the woods, clear a way to even begin to see land they could build upon.  I took a photograph of one chimney with the year 1878 em-blazed upon it.  Likely the land was settled long before that and it beats me all to he** how they even got up here; my car even though new was chugging up those mountain sides.  I can only imagine one horsepower and a wagon climbing through those forests, carving the roadway as they proceeded.

I also got the sense of there having been (and possibly still is) a very redneck population and had visions of the Klu Klux Klan.  Were they inhabitants of these areas I drove through; possibly, but certainly I felt a presence.  That wouldn’t surprise me if it turned out to be an historical truth.  Where religion moves in so does man made bigotry and doctrine; the white man’s way.  I saw only one or two people who were not “white” skinned; these were men working the road construction crew.

Does racism exist in the backwoods of America, even amongst those who struggle to make a living; not in the power boardrooms of America but the backwoods?  And if it does, did religion have a play, a say in this?  Likely for religion has been the crucible for many a horror; wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Drive thru bible; towns named after places found in the Bible/Torah – were the settlers from those mid-eastern parts; Palestine, Canaan?  Perhaps they were from Ireland or Scotland and used the bible to name their new homes, much like we used to name our children after folks from the bible.  Heaven only knows the intent; perhaps a good one, a prayerful name with expectations that YHWH would reside there with them in Gilead or Bethel or Canaan, and that their lives would be blessed.

I have no idea of the history of the area, can only speak of what I saw as I drove through, occasionally stopping.  Small villages, sparsely populated and with miles and miles and miles between them.

The other rather common landmark, when one would look for churches, was the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Halls; there seemed to be more of that denomination than others, at least on the highways upon which I travelled.

Interesting to see what will unfold in the days and years to come.  Will those from the city flee to the mountains when food and water becomes unavailable; returning to live off the land?  Certainly there is more uninhabited space than inhabited.  Like I said in another post, it seems to me that 75% of this country (USA) is without population.  We could certainly afford to let several countries move in, bag and baggage, and still have plenty of space for growth and development.
