That I should write of layers, inspired at 6 or so in the morning, and then that I should pick up a book and open it to a page where the author writes, "Jesus knew that although our essentially good selves are 'layered' over with 'dysfunctional' behavior, this doesn't undo our fundamental goodness. We fall short [which is what it means to sin, to 'fall short', 'miss the mark'] of the IDEAL [acronymn for 'ideal' - I D(ea) L(ove) - my "ID" is Love]. Our mis-take is to equate our true selves with the tarnish that has dulled the silver. When we cease focusing on the tarnish, we begin to manifest the silver." I just had to share this with anyone who is reading or has read this blog. The parts in square brackets are my added comments. The book this is taken from is David Roert Ord's Your Forgotten Self - Mirrored in Jesus the Christ.
