Ιρλανδία: Έχω Come Home
Here I am, in the land of leprechauns and 4 leaf clovers and fields turning green despite the coolness of the weather and lack of sun.
What I’ve seen so far has me falling love; what I’ve seen so far has been the miles of fields beside the ocean as we came in for a landing in Cork; then the joyous drive in an unfamiliar vehicle, on the wrong side of the road (drive on the left over here); then the early evening walk along the streets around my hotel, which is located in City Centre…within walking distance of the commercial centre of the city…which included a leisurely stroll through a shopping centre filled with high end, name products – like Givenchy, Guess, Ralph L, κλπ.. etc. Though the store was just that, a mall with everything in it, and not much difference to any in Toronto, yet I found it was different.
It’s the people; warmer, friendlier, more helpful and just plain pleasant. Although they were working, they were most helpful and plain nice folks. A guy on the plane, returning home to Dublin from a visit to Toronto said he bet I’d want to stay on; there’s no place like Ireland. We shall see what unfolds over the next 7 να 10 ημέρες.
Tomorrow I head out to the country to find my great great grandfather’s homestead, which an Irish woman told me does and where I can find it. How exciting is that, Σας ρωτώ!
I am falling asleep at the computer; haven’t slept since Thursday evening. I am signing off; making too many mistakes!
I believe my “pot of gold” will be revealed to me if I but stay fully awake and conscious to all that comes my way.
