Ավետարանի եւ Մերի Magdala: Jesus and the First Woman Apostle

A little background on me might help you, ընթերցողը, to understand why this book had such a profound impact upon me, as a woman and as a human searching out the truth, searching out who we human kind really are; what is our essence.

I was born into a Roman Catholic family and brought up in that religion.  My generation never saw a bible; just a catechism that fed us the RC church’s doctrine on what the bible purportedly said and what we should believe and act upon.  I spent the first 40 years of my life following the RC church; following man’s doctrine that had been spoon fed to me, and which I gleefully swallowed, hook, line and sinker!  40 years of such words and doctrine feeding my soul, forming my thinking…is a very long time and you can imagine just how many բառեր I’d ingested!

When I was a practising RC person, in the beginning…yes, I’ve been around for a few hours of time…the mass was in Latin and the priest stood with his back to the congregation. There most definitely were no female participants in the church at that time; Այսինքն, no females with any roles in the active mass activities.  Sure, there was the Lady’s League, of which my mother was an active member and ultimately the president of her chapter; but there wasn’t any such thing…heaven forbid not even a thought…of altar girls.  Very definitely, the RC religion was male dominated, male run and male oriented.

Back to dear Mary Magdalene; she most definitely was portrayed as a prostitute and sadly it wasn’t until within the last couple of years that it even dawned on me to think otherwise.  This came about slowly, in reading books (historical and factual) books about the women of the bible and the role they played in the active religious organizations as well as the community and fair ruling and judging of society.  All of these things got me to thinking, “What else have we not been told, and better still, how much of what we have been told and taught is truth and how much is outright lies to suit the hidden agenda of some man or organization?"

Several years ago a play came out that got the religious folks, especially the RC ones, in an uproar.  It was called “Jesus Christ, Super Star.” I never saw the play, but for some strange reason the words (not even all of them, just what I will quote) of a song, sung by a woman, in referring to Jesus, were forever engraved in my heart.  These were, “I don’t know how to love him….he’s a man, he’s just a man….”.  I am quite certain I still don’t know the full impact of those few words, nor do I have the full meaning for my life.  But I do know, from historical proof in my own life, there is a message in those words, just for me.

As for this book which I highly recommend, read it with an open heart.  Harden not your hearts, that the life giving words might flow through and speak to you; tell you what is true and provide you with the message you need to hear on your own personal, spiritual journey.

I believe that these books have been uncovered (I never say discovered) at such a time as this because it is the appointed time for them and those who need to read what is written will be drawn to them, just as I have been drawn.

Mary Magdalene: An amazing woman, prophetess, disciple and spiritual woman who loved Yahshua (my choice of words is the Hebrew).  Like I said in another blog, “So what if Yahshua was married?  Does that make him any less than who he was?"

In closing I share with you that whatever you think about the pending 2012 anticipated change or whatever will take place, know that it is greater than anyone could imagine and that it is a good thing; no a great thing, and that the time of the rule of the wisdom of the feminine, which gives life and wholeness is upon us.
