Photography

Although I did not need to be told it, people often comment that I seem to love taking pictures.  I know I love taking pictures; the camera an extension of my arm and hand.  I have been using a camera since about age 4!  I now have one in my car at all times, just in case, much the same as my not being without pen and paper to jot down ideas that pop into my head and end up being an article, blog or short story – neither will come this way again and I’ve learned the hard way to carpe diem….seize the moment!
You will see a lot of flowers here because they are beautiful, but also they are very much the inspiration for a lot of the writing that I share in the blog on this site – The Power of Words.

It is my desire that one of these pictures will bring to life, for you the viewer, a special moment in your life; memories of a loved one no longer physically with us or a special day like the birth of a child, a wedding, or just being still and knowing how wonderfully perfect and beautiful is this life we live.

The “eye of the camera” is in the “eye of the holder.”  Come see what I see – the door is always open.

I am ever grateful for two advancements in photography.  For years it seemed that I spent more on picture development than I did for the cost of my holiday and I am therefore grateful for the digital photography era.  Secondly, again grateful for digital photography and the advancement in the development of software that makes even the most amature photographer seem like an artistic angel.

Below are what appear to be three different (though a bit similar) photographs.  They aren’t.  One is the original, the other a mirrored effect and the other a kaleidoscope version.  I love the swirling kaleidoscope effect of the photograph.
