Drink Your Rhubarb

I had occasion to make the most unusual juice this afternoon.

I didn’t feel like trotting off to the store and I had a few carrots (perhaps 8 or so), two beets, some celery, strawberries, hot peppers and lemons.  I was given a bunch of rhubarb earlier in the day and as I gathered my ingredients to juice, glancing at the rhubarb, I thought, “Why not?”

Well, it is a marvellous concoction, however I should have left out the hot peppers.  It really is quite smooth and refreshing and when you think of it, why wouldn’t it be.  I love strawberry/rhubarb pie mixtures, so why not drink it?

I’ve previously written on my other juice concoctions that include carrots and beets and provided you with a listing of the benefits.

Rhubarb is a great source of calcium, Vitamin K (good for your blood and clotting), Lutein (good for your skin, eyes) and (the ‘thing’ of the day) antioxidants.  Apparently it is the compound in the rhubarb that gives it the red colour that are your antioxidant ingredients.  They help promote good health in the heart, eyes and immune system and assist in the prevention of cancer.

The ingredients I juiced filled the container you see in this picture and provided an additionl 6 ounches or so.

So, there you have it.  If you have unwanted rhubarb and don’t know what to do with it, well drink it!  Mix to taste, and as I said, leave out the hot peppers.

Colour My World

Healing Crystal & Colour Tree

There is a very old song that says, “He’s got the whole world, in His Hands…you and me brother…” and as I thought about those words and also thought about our true nature and that we are a part of the Whole, created in the image of He who created us, I concluded that if you and I are a part of “Him”, then you and I have the whole world in our hands!

Then I got to thinking about having this ability to create a world and asked self, “What colour would you colour your world?”  Automatically, for me of course, was the colour purple; purple for some inexplicable reason has always and forever been my favourite colour.

Because of my belief system, notably that nothing and no one is without purpose, then of course I believe that each colour does indeed have a specific purpose.  Before going to look up “the colour purple” (I am not talking about that great movie here folks!), I knew that I knew from having read or heard somewhere, sometime a long time ago, that the colour purple is indicative of “compassion”.  So, what does the web say about purple?  Here is what I found, sourced at http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-meaning.html:

Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Purple is associated with royalty. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

According to surveys, almost 75 percent of pre-adolescent children prefer purple to all other colors. Purple is a very rare color in nature; some people consider it to be artificial.

Light purple is a good choice for a feminine design. You can use bright purple when promoting children’s products.

Light purple evokes romantic and nostalgic feelings. Dark purple evokes gloom and sad feelings. It can cause frustration.

Well, I don’t see anything about compassion in this person’s definition.  I am not deterred and remain adamant that purple does mean compassion; I purpose that at least for me purple evokes compassion.

Anyway as I thought about these things this morning and colouring the world purple, a message received was,

“Why not colour the world white, because then you have the whole spectrum of colours?”

What a marvellous idea.  And next came the thought,

“And what colour you see the world as being is and will be determined by the emotions you feel, evoke and emit.”

Whoa buddy!  Back up!  That’s one heck of a responsibility to lay on someone’s shoulders.  That was my first reaction and then I thought about Masaru Emoto’s work with water crystals.

Emoto photographed water droplets as they froze and crystallized.  His research showed that beautiful music, thoughts and surroundings caused the formation of the most beautiful crystals, whereas things like photos of Hitler or hard rock/punk music caused the formation of crystals that were dark, mal-aligned and not a pretty sight to behold.

If our assignment, as co-creators with the Creator, determines the beauty of this world and the colour we paint it is determined by all of our emotional, psychological make-up from moment to moment, then we have no choice but to be ever present and ever aware of the current moment we are in. Talk about incentive for living the now!!

Namaste…have a rainbow colour filled day!

Is It Any Wonder?

I am so happy to have found this information and it brought out the response, “Is it any wonder,” that it has been so challenging in my journey, to find out the very essence of the who and why I am!  When I read something like this, it gives me reflief and a kind of “forgiveness of self” for not yet having uncovered/discovered the essence of who am I.

Everyone has at least heard the term “DNA” and understands that each human has his/her own blueprint DNA; that no two are ever the same.  In this book I am reading, DNA is very much the core substance and is dealt with in a multitude of ways.  I’ve only just begun and barely touched the tip of the iceberg, and I am in awe – at me; at the human.

It is written that**[see below for source],

In the double helix shape, theDNA bases pair and twist around each other many times in a spiral form.  The Human genetic code is about 3 billion base pairs long and occurs about a hundred trillion times in a typical human body.

The human genetic code contains approximately 23,000 human genes (at last count), which represent the propensities of who we are.  This includes everything we get from nature, plus what we get from ouru parents and their parents.

According to scientific studies, I have at least 23,000 human genes!  Another bit of information that most are aware of is that our genes that determine everything about us from eye colour to the way we walk.

How can anyone say there is not a creator, a being greater than any could imagine, when we look at the complexity of each human being?

I read something else that I immediately embraced as it sent shivers up and down my entire body.

There are apparently 12 energies or layers of study around our DNA.  The author writes layers but refernces they are in fact dimensions.  Just as the world in which we live is 3-dimensional (layers), according to science our DNA alone has 12 dimensions!  It is also suggested by the writer that the coded DNA is indeed bits or parts of the Creator, of God.

Every human being (if one must see more concrete, scientific stuff) is coded with the stuff of God; imbedded.  We are indeed a part of the Great I AM, of the wholeness.

As I said, “Is it any wonder,” the human takes forever in his/her quest to discover who they are and I doubt that we will ever know the entirety of just how magnificent we are, because which one of us is able to define or label God, the Creator, with an absolute that encompases his totality?

It is a great relief, this recent discovery, and a gift of permission to accept that I am unfolding and understanding at the perfect pace intended for me; not you or anyone else, just me.

That same permission is available to all upon grasping the enormity of the task of knowing who we are.

As a closing I share a question that just popped into mind.

According to esoteric studies and metaphysical beliefs, the chakras each relate to a dimension or planet. Western society puts the chakras at 7, but I’ve read and written on additional chakras.  Are there perhaps 12 chakras each corresponding to one of the 12 dimensions around the human DNA?

Most agree there are likely more chakras and more than the 12 dimensions around the DNA.

These are just some coincidental things to contemplate, so is it any wonder I continue to study, research, meditate in efforts to understand my being?

Today’s Date of May 5, 2012

Looking at today’s date I saw that it (May 5, 2012) adds up to a bunch of 5s:  5, 5, 5.  Then when you add the numbers you get (in calculating numbers and meanings) a 6.  Personally speaking, I love the sum total of the date, not just the 5s.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, in case I forget, I send all blessings of love for healing and forgiveness be there rifts or misunderstandings within a family unit.  Without family we would not be.  Healing begins with an individual, then like an organism it spreads out from that individual to the surroundings and environment we are to be found in at the moment.  We all have family, so the healing reaches out to our family members (self included), then out the door to the neighbourhood, then out to the community at large, then the region or district, and so it goes ad infinitum, ultimately going full circle, returning back to the sender having increased in magnitude, volume and a wealth of love that one cannot horde nor hang onto for fear of exploding.

For all my Spanish readers, I acknowledge it is the Cinco de Mayo – which I still do not understand except to say I know it is an important date for you and I believe it is a day of celebrating ones Mexican heritage.  These days when I think of Mexico it is more to think of what has come out of Mexico by way of the gift(s) of the Maya.  So yes, of course, I send blessings to those who celebrate, for in blessing another we bless ourselves.
